Salmon Stories

What do wild salmon mean to you? To your community?

Measuring the pulse of wild salmon in Salmon Nation is the surest way to measure the health of all our living systems, humans included.

Salmon Stories is a collection of personal narratives from across the bioregion that support the understanding that the fight for wild salmon is about much more than fish: it’s about culture, community, livelihood, sustainability, life.

Video interviews are curated and produced by our Salmon Stories Fellows: passionate people from all over Salmon Nation who want to tell their communities’ stories and find out more about how salmon have shaped the places and people that matter most to them.

We’re collecting stories from Indigenous leaders, fishing professionals, scientists, journalists, mothers, bankers, urban foodies, artists, farmers, entrepreneurs, energy workers, tourists and tourism operators, mechanics, preachers, bureaucrats, bus drivers, loggers, teachers, children, politicians. From everyone.

These stories will be shared publicly in Fall 2021.
