Salmon Nation Block Party

The Salmon Nation Block Party has happened twice: once in 2003 and once in 2006. The event is an eclectic street fair/farmer's market extravaganza presented by, and in honor of, Salmon Nation citizens. It brings us together to inspire and educate, bridge urban-rural divides, and celebrate the people, lands and waters of the Northwest temperate rainforest.
The 2006 Block Party was a huge success, with over 90 booths, a packed performance schedule, and over 8,000 citizens attending throughout the day! The event is truly emergent, meaning that it happens when it needs to happen, and right now there are no plans underway for another event in 2007. Thanks for your support, though, and please explore these pages to learn more about the block party and the people that made it happen here in Salmon Nation.

Your story matters...
Salmon Nation would not be the same without millions of people who call it home, and it can’t survive without your help and active participation. But active participation doesn’t just mean making an annual donation to a cause you believe in, although that sure helps. Participating means realizing that your experience makes the difference and that you have something to offer this growing movement.
Maybe you’re a student or an educator, artist or small business owner. Maybe you’re a day-laborer, rancher, electric utility worker, government employee, engineer, chef, retailer, state governor or congressperson. Regardless of what you do, know that we all matter and that we all have a stake in the economic and ecological vitality of this bioregion. Salmon Nation is about recognizing these interconnections and acting on your passion in a way that enhances whole watersheds and fosters our shared prosperity.
There are a million ways to participate in this growing movement, and in these pages we provide a few starting points. You could declare your citizenship and find out about upcoming events, or you could add yourself to the map. You could share photos of trips you’ve taken or things you’ve seen in the bioregion. You could sport some Salmon Nation gear, make a contribution, or get the Salmon Nation credit card. You could even learn how to use the logo on your products or help us spread the word in other ways.
Whatever you do, you’re invited to live like you mean it here in Salmon Nation.
